Sometimes our routine gets interrupted. And we can be creatures of habit. Creating a routine and a schedule in the gym is a crucial part of success. But sometimes life throws us curve balls. Our training gets derailed. Our schedule has to change and we can’t stick to our normal routine. Work takes over or we get sick. ?Sometimes it’s self-imposed and sometimes it’s because of external circumstances. And sometimes just getting re-started can be a challenge.
Those old feelings can creep in then. Those worries about what other people might think about us in the gym. Even irrational fears like we’ve been shrinking even when we’ve just been gone for a few days. Some hesitation about getting back that’s just not part of our normal lives when we’re in our regular training flow.
In these times, the important thing to do is JUST GET THE HELL BACK IN THERE. Even if you just bring your body to the gym and almost do nothing. Which is not the way it’s going to go. Once you’re there and once you get started, the flow will take over and the energy will restart. Bringing your body is more than 1/2 the battle. And one more time it’s a case of BRING THE BODY AND THE MIND WILL FOLLOW.
Take the actions and the feelings will follow.
In those moments, we need to ignore the feelings about getting restarted and JUST DO IT making the clear decision to put the negative thoughts on the shelf and just take the actions. ?And before we know it, just by making this move, we can be back on track and in the pleasure of our normal training routine once again.
