Up at 5:30am to catch a plane is never my favorite thing– If you know me you know how true that is. Or taking two shuttles from the normal terminal to an international terminal to take a flight to Atlanta and a long walk in between before all day travel til 6pm Atlanta time.
But attitude is everything.
We can choose to look at the negatives a day gives us — like sleep deprivation, a cramped plane seat in coach or the challenges a weekend on the road for work will present with training and the meal plan. Or I can choose to decide it’s still going to be a good day. Look forward to the exciting new class and positive people I’ll be teaching this weekend. The new opportunities that will be presented for me and how people’s lives will open up this weekend, transform and expand.
If I decide to have a good experience I will have a good, fun experience. Even though making this thought shift sometimes can feel like the hardest thing to do.
This weekend, even though I will be taking care of a large group of people, I will make it a priority to take care of myself. I will go to the grocery store for my food right after I land and pick up my car. I will do an excellent job and give the very best I have. I will connect with a workout partner and find a gym to get in the best workouts I can get in moderately and without crucifying myself if it all doesn’t come out perfectly.
I even made it here in plenty of time before the flight to write this blog, get food for the plane so I make sure I get my calories in and rest to have a little breakfast picnic before take off.
It’s a good day when I decide to make it a good day.
I like it when that actually lines up and falls into place.
