Today, I will accept that Progress in Training is not a Straight Line. Because Life is in session and the unexpected happens. We get sick. We have work demands. We have to travel. We lose jobs and experience losses. And as always, ATTITUDE IS KEY and our THINKING AND FOCUS CREATE OUR FUTURE.
Yes, complicating factors are going to show up and sometimes we have to miss the gym. Sometimes our training is going to be delayed, derailed or even put on hold by factors beyond our control. And some will be bigger and worse than others. Sometimes we’re even taken out of commission for periods of time.
We can get angry. We can focus on how it’s unfair even though there’s nothing we can do. We emotionally spin our wheels.
Or we have a choice. We can see these delays and complications for what they are. Usually temporary factors that can be overcome. It’s in the coming back where the make or break happens. Not in the downtime where we feel so miserable.
And we can learn to live through the delays reminding ourselves that we will come back bigger and stronger because we can choose to do whatever it takes.
